Today's Devotional Reading: Revelation 19-22

"See, I am coming soon, and my reward is with me, to repay all according to their deeds." (Revelation 22:12 NLT)

TODAY'S WORD

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita -- All in God's Timing

All in God's Timing
Today's Devotional Reading: Revelation 15-18
December 30, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"Take note: I will come as unexpectedly as a thief! Bless are all who are watching for me." (Revelation 16:15 NLT)

TODAY'S WORD

This world is a fast, go-go place where people want things "my way, in my time and for my life." Many people think that the world will give them what they are trying to get . . . and that it's up to them to take what they want. But that's simply not true. Yes, you are called to action and you must go out there and live life, but God has blessings for you that He wants you to be patient and wait on. You can plan your whole life, all the way to the end, but the Bible says that the Lord determines your steps, not you. Give yourself over to Him and be patient and wait upon the Lord and His blessings!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, help me not to be impatient, but to wait upon You and what You want to bless me with. Give me the strength not to give in to the way the world runs life, because I know that You have all of my steps designed. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita -- Think Big

Think Big
Today's Devotional Reading: Revelation 10-14
December 29, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, the one who is and who always was, for now you have assumed your great power, and have begun to reign.." (Revelation 11:17 NLT)

TODAY'S WORD

When you think about it, the people of this world have always seen much less than God intended to show them. Do you ever have trouble thinking big and trusting God for something big? If you do, you're not alone, because everyone has. But in order to experience all the blessings God has in store for you, you must step out of your small box and dive into the large box of God's love. Sometimes it's difficult to have a God-sized life view and expectations, but when you learn to really trust God, you'll see Him do great things for you.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, Your Word says that You are bigger than I could ever imagine, and I thank You for Your bigger plans for me. Give me the strength to trust You and expect You to do great things in my life. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

We sure love you!
Eric & Rita

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita -- Nothing is Beyond Your Reach!

Nothing is Beyond Your Reach
Today's Devotional Reading: Revelation 1-4
December 27, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"He has made us his kingdom and his priests who serve before God his Father. Give to him everlasting glory! He rules forever and ever! Amen!" (Revelation 1:6 NLT)

TODAY'S WORD

You must remember that God is not only with you, He is also for you and He is in you! His goodness and mercy follow you everywhere you go, no matter where you go. He has also promised that no matter what path life takes you on, He'll go ahead of you and make the crooked paths straight. As long as you're following His path, you simply can't lose! Once you begin to see the future through the eyes of faith, you'll discover that victory is within your grasp. Begin to see yourself the way God sees you, and it will change your perspective on everything!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, thank You for putting every good and perfect thing within my grasp. I know that when I see things the way You see them, I can revolutionize my life! In Jesus' Name. Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita -- Trade Ashes for Beauty

Trade Ashes for Beauty
Today's Devotional Reading: Ps. 117, 119:81-176; 2 Jn.; 3 Jn.
December 26, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word." (Psalm 119:114)

TODAY'S WORD

No matter how much faith we have or how good we try to be, we all face disappointments in life. Maybe you didn't get that gift you were hoping for, or you weren't able to close that big deal you had been working so hard on. Maybe it was something more serious like a chronic illness or the death of a loved one. Whatever the situation may be, we are all going to suffer some setbacks. It is a part of life.

The key to overcoming these disappointments is to let go of the past. Let go of past mistakes and failures, past hurts and pains, past shortcomings and sins. Until you are willing to let go of the past, you will never experience the brilliant future God has in store for you.

You are in charge of your own destiny. The choices you make, the thoughts you dwell on, all impact your future. Let us encourage you to stop mourning over your losses. If you have made mistakes, and we all have, then be willing to forgive yourself. Receive God's gift of mercy. If you live every day with hope, faith, and expectancy, God will turn your disappointments into victory and give you beauty for ashes and joy for mourning. When you put your trust in Him, you will discover that your brightest days are just over the horizon and you can begin living now!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, I refuse to be trapped in the past. I release, this day, the pain I have been holding on to. I trust You, O Lord. Your Son died so that I might be washed clean. I will live with my eyes set on You, not the pain in my past. In Jesus' name, Amen

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita -- Christmas is a good time to believe

Christmas is a good time to Believe
Today's Devotional Reading: John 19-21
December 24, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who haven't seen me and believe anyway." (John 20:29 NLT)

TODAY'S WORD

Christmas time is a good opportunity to share with others your excitement and to share the good news: Because Christ came to earth, you are free!

You can experience true peace and goodwill only when you have His Spirit in your life. "And His name shall be called Emmanuel, God with us."

Today, give Him praise as the multitude of heavenly host did on the day He arrived. As you glorify and worship Him this Christmas season, you will be filled with His love, peace, and joy. He is able to meet all your needs today.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, it's easy for the true meaning of Christmas to get lost in the busyness of the season. Help me to experience Christmas with the wonder of a child. Just as the wise men did so long ago, I will fall down on my knees and worship the Christ child. Thank you for the gift of Your son.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric and Rita -- Do you have Room for God?

Do You Have Room for God?
Today's Devotional Reading: John 15-18
December 23, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruiful apart from me." (John 15:4 NLT)

TODAY'S WORD

Being fruitful means being productive and excelling in everything you do. When you're fruitful, life isn't a drain, it doesn't wear you out and you don't have to force things to happen. The difference between living a busy life and a fruitful life is found in who we stay connected with.

When you confuse fruitfulness with busyness, you can head down a path that wears you out and robs God of His glory. You can be content when you're being fruitful because you know you're living a life that is pleasing to God. A fruitful life blesses others and receives God's blessings in return. This is how God intended your life to be!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, I know that I am often too busy for my own good. Help me to slow down when necessary and even say "no" to some things so I can give You my best. Thank You for Your love and for designing me to be fruitful! In Jesus' name. Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotions from Pastor Eric & Rita - Be a Love Linguist

Be a Love Linguist
Today's Devotional Reading: John 7,8
December 20, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say." (John 8:43)

TODAY'S WORD

Most of us grow up learning the language of our parents. As we grow up we might learn additional languages, usually with much more effort. Regardless of how many languages we speak our native tongue is still the easiest to speak and understand.

It is the same way in our relationships. We tend to give others the same kind of love and attention that is most familiar to us yet we are surprised when they don't understand what we are trying to communicate.

To some, actions speak louder than words, so they show their love through acts of service. To others, gifts of appreciation make them feel loved, so they tend to show their love to others by finding just the right gift.

Each of us needs to learn to speak a variety of languages if we are to successfully communicate to those we care for the most. The more we speak in these languages, the more comfortable we feel and the more those around us understand. By immersing ourselves in our spouse or children's love language, the more likely they are to receive our love and appreciation in the way we truly want them to.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, I will learn a new language this week so the people I love will understand how I feel about them. Help me discern the best way to communicate my love to others. In Jesus' name, Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita -- Open Hearts

Open Hearts
Today's Devotional Reading: John 2-4
December 18, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"If anyone sees his brother in need yet closes his heart of compassion, how can the love of God be in him?" (John 3:17)

TODAY'S WORD

Is your heart of compassion open? Do you take time to make a difference in others? God has given you a heart of compassion, but you must decide to keep it open and allow the love of God to flow through you to those around you.

In order to experience God's abundant life, you must keep your focus on helping other people. Don't allow the enemy to keep you so busy that you overlook the needs of those around you. Make a decision to show God's love and goodness wherever you go. Be on the lookout for people you can bless.

Go out of your way to show God's compassion, and as you do, you will discover God working through you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, you have my best interests in your heart. I want to learn to show that love to the people in my life. Help me to open my heart and find ways to show compassion and love to those around me. In Jesus' name - Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita -- Find that Special Place

Find That Special Place
Today's Devotional Reading: John 2-4
December 18, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"The bride will go where the bridegroom is. A bridegroom's friend rejoices with him. I am the bridegrooms' friend and I am filled with joy at his success." (John 3:29)

TODAY'S WORD

God's special place for you is where you are most content and fulfilled, experiencing prosperity in your health, your emotions, your relationships, and your finances. A good example of this is found in 1 Kings 17:3, where God told the prophet Elijah, "Leave here, turn eastward and hide in the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan. You will drink from the brook, and I have ordered the ravens to feed you there." Elijah obeyed God and went, and the ravens fed him. If Elijah had decided not to obey God and do things his own way instead, he would not have been in a place to receive God's blessings.

Today's scripture tells us that John the Baptist found great joy because he was in that special place -- knowing what he was created to do. You are blessed when you are fully convinced that God wants to meet all of your needs, and you decide to obey Him.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Lord, I want to thank You for giving me a place where I can be fulfilled and blessed as I serve You. Give me the wisdom and patience to know where to go to find this special place of Your blessing. In Jesus' name. Amen.

We sure love you!
Eric & Rita

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita -- You're Not an Accident!

You're Not an Accident!
Today's Devotional Reading: 2 Peter 1-3; Jn. 1
December 17, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"The Lord isn't really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.." (2 Peter 3:9)

TODAY'S WORD

When you're living according to your purpose, there's nothing in this world that can stop you. You can develop a vision of victory in your life knowing that God can handle anything that comes your way. The Bible says that "Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world." Simply shake off anything that the enemy throws at you and don't let it hinder or bother you. Lift your eyes to God - when you magnify him, the obstacles in your life will become so much smaller.

Remember, God isn't really being slow about his promise. He has a great destiny for you in mind.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, thank you for my purpose and my placement. I know that You intended me to live right where I am today. May I live boldly and step out to grasp those things that You have called me to do. In Jesus' name. Amen.

We sure love you!
Eric & Rita

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita -- Blessed be the Balanced

Blessed be the Balanced
Today's Devotional Reading: 1 Peter 1-5
December 16, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"Be well-balanced, for your enemy goes about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour." (I Peter 5:8 AMP)

TODAY'S WORD

God wants you to experience victory in every area of your life-physically, spiritually, emotionally, financially, and relationally. Living a well-balanced life is the key!

Excess is the enemy's playground. He knows that if he can get you over into extremes in any area, then he can keep you from experiencing God's best. When you get out of balance, you give the enemy a foothold. But when you have your priorities in order, there's security, protection, and safety. When you are taking care of yourself, your family, and your relationship with God, you are going to be strong and healthy and the enemy won't have a chance!

I encourage you to examine your heart and life today. Ask the Lord to show you if there are areas where you may be out of balance. Ask Him to help you make the right adjustments so that you are able to be effective in every area of your life. As you work towards balance, you will walk in the abundant life that God has prepared for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, reveal to me the areas in my life that are out of balance. I may be spending too much time and energy on my job, a relationship, a leisure activity, or everyday distractions. Whatever it is that is preventing me from experiencing victory, help me to prioritize and live a more balanced life. In Jesus' name - Amen.

We sure love you!
Eric & Rita

Daily Devotion with Pastor Eric & Rita -- Praise God in all Things

Praise God in all Things
Today's Devotional Reading: Hebrews 12-13; Jude
December 14, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"Let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name." (Hebrews 13:15)

TODAY'S WORD

It is easy to praise God when you are in church on Sundays. Unfortunately, we can't stay there all day, every day. We have to go back to our homes where the atmosphere may not always be as worshipful. The washing machine breaks, you get stuck in traffic, and the phone is ringing off the hook interrupting everything that you are doing and somehow it is not so easy to praise the Lord.

Your circumstances can cause you to have a pity party because of all that is seemingly going wrong. But when you are faced with adversity, instead of focusing on the bad, look for the good. That is when it really becomes a sacrifice of praise! It's easy to praise the Lord when things are great, but the true test of our faith is when we praise the Lord regardless of our circumstances.

At those times when you are most tempted to complain, let us encourage you to look for the good and to praise the Lord for all the blessings in your life. Find the good, and thank God, in every situation and He will begin to pour out His blessings and favor upon you like never before, and you'll experience the overcoming life of victory that He has in store just for you.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Thank you, God, for all that I have. It may be a place to live, a car to drive, children to love, a job, good health... My blessings are too many to count. Today I make the choice to offer up a sacrifice of praise to You and to give thanks in every situation. In Jesus' name - Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita -- Seeds of Greatness

Seeds of Greatness
Today's Devotional Reading: Hebrews 9-11
December 13, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"Do not cast away your confidence for it will be richly rewarded." (Hebrews 10:35)

TODAY'S WORD

God is constantly trying to plant new seeds of victory inside of you! He's trying to increase you and enlarge your vision. He wants to take you to new levels of victory. But in order for this to happen, the seed has to take root in your heart. Before you're ever going to be successful, you've got to see yourself being successful. Before your dreams come to pass, you've got to look through your eyes of faith and see them come to pass.

The enemy doesn't want you to grow and increase, or fulfill your destiny, so he immediately tries to distract your heart and uproot the seed God planted. In order to defeat the enemy in your life, you have to stay focused on God, His Word-and the dream He's promised to you! Constantly meditate on His promises, and thank the Lord for His faithfulness no matter what the circumstances look like. Before long, you'll begin to see the dreams God placed in your heart come to pass.!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, I know you have destined me for great things. Give me the focus and the courage to live the life I was destined to live. I want to recommit myself to reading Your Word daily and staying in fellowship with You so that I can grow the seed of greatness you planted in my heart. In Jesus' name - Amen

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita

Seize the Joy!
Today's Devotional Reading: Heb. 5-8
December 12, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us." (Hebrews 6:18 NLT)

TODAY'S WORD

Imagine what you would do if someone told you that there was a special gift waiting for you at the top of the stairs and all you had to do is walk up a few steps and you could have it. It would not take you very long to get up those steps, would it?

At the top of those stairs are all of God's promises and plans for your life. All you have to do is walk up the stairs and you can possess all that He has in store for you. But you have to do your part. You have to take the steps necessary in order to take hold of the promises that are waiting for you. God wants us to slow down, be ourselves, lighten up and laugh more, stay positive (no matter what happens), refuse to worry and live to give. As you step out in faith, God will move on your behalf and you will begin to experience that abundant overflowing joy!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, Today I step toward the joy you offer me. I will live a life that glorifies You and begin to see myself as You see me-full of potential with a divine destiny! In Jesus' Name - Amen.

We sure love you!
Eric & Rita

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita -- Living on Purpose

Living on Purpose
Today's Devotional Reading: 2 Tim 1-4
December 10, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith." (II Timothy 4:7)

TODAY'S WORD

While he was imprisoned in Rome prior to his execution, the Apostle Paul wrote to his young protégé, Timothy. Paul knew that his death was near, but he had lived his life with such passion and dedication to Jesus Christ that he had no regrets. Paul did not store up treasure here on earth, but fixed his eyes on heaven. He had given his all to further the cause of the Gospel, and he had used every ounce of talent and potential that God had given him. Since he had used his gifts to the fullest, he had no regrets. In fact, Paul was fulfilling his God-given destiny right up until his death.

We encourage and challenge you to live like Paul. Live a life of no regret. Find your purpose. Pursue it. Give it everything you've got. When you do that, God will lead you, guide you, and prosper everything you put your hand to. He'll pour out His favor and blessings, and you, too, will fulfill your divine destiny.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, When I take my last breath, I want to come to You with no regrets. There is a purpose for my life, Lord. Help me to discover it, embrace it, and fulfill it for Your glory. In Jesus' Name - Amen.

We sure love you!
Eric & Rita

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric and Rita -- How to Improve Any Relationship In your Life

How to improve any relationship in your life
Today's Devotional Reading: 1 Tim 5,6; Titus 1-3
December 9, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"But as for you, promote the kind of living that reflects right teaching." (Titus 2:1)

TODAY'S WORD

You can improve your relationship with anyone, a child, neighbor or even your boss! It starts with creating an atmosphere of peace in your relationships. Sometimes we feel we just can't get along with certain people. But God puts us with people who are different from us on purpose. They have a lot to give us if we'll just seek to understand them. We have to focus on meeting their needs, filling their "emotional tank," instead of just looking for what they can do for us. If you do these things, your life will be much richer. You'll resolve conflict quicker. You'll be able to more easily overlook each other's faults and be more forgiving. You'll be content and satisfied in life.

And don't worry, God hasn't forgotten about your own needs. Because God is faithful, He will pour out His favor and abundance into your own life even while you are focused on blessing others!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, thank You for giving me my family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and all of the people You have put in my life. Help me to appreciate each one as a unique person with something valuable to teach me and share with me. Help me to learn from them, and make it a priority to do whatever I can to meet their needs. Thank You for Your promise that as I focus on others, I will also be blessed and grow in my relationship with them and with You. In Jesus' Name - Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita

Random Acts of Kindness
Today's Devotional Reading: Col. 1-4
December 7, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience." (Colossians 3:12)

TODAY'S WORD

A reporter was interviewing people whose homes had been destroyed by Hurricane Ivan. An interesting theme emerged. Each person said that although they didn't know their neighbors before the storm hit, they had since become friends. This all took place as they helped each other out whenever they could. They gave each other water, helped clear debris, and watched each other's children. One woman who never even took the time to cook her own meals before the storm now prepared dinner for 25 neighbors in her RV because she was the only one who had a working stove.

Sometimes tragedy brings out the best in us. We can be very generous when the need is desperate and obvious. But we need to remember that there are people all around us who are facing the desperate storms of life and their needs may not be so obvious. We may have to look a little bit harder to see how they are hurting and determine how we can help.

We encourage you to keep your eyes and your heart open to those you meet each day. Begin to focus on how you can be a blessing to others. Maybe it is something as simple as speaking a kind word or taking someone groceries. Look for opportunities to do random acts of kindness; these are expressions of God's love to the world. One thing for certain, as we meet the needs of others God will meet all of your needs in ways you never imagined.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, open my eyes to the suffering that is all around me. I am Your ambassador and there is much work to be done! In times of tragedy and times of peace, put before me the people who need to experience Your love so that I might be a blessing in their lives. In Jesus' name, Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric and Rita -- Be a Purposeful Christian

Be a Purposeful Christian
Today's Devotional Reading: Phil 1-4
December 6, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"My determined purpose is to know Him and the power flowing out from His resurrection." (Philippians 3:10)

TODAY'S WORD

God has many great things in store for you, but you will never go to a new level of victory without opposition. That's why you must stay focused and committed to what God is calling you to do. You must continually stay in fellowship with your Heavenly Father through prayer, worship, study of His Word, and fellowship with other believers.

I encourage you today to rise up and take authority over any area in your life that's keeping you in defeat. Be on the aggressive. Be on the offensive. If you'll stay focused and determined, God will take you places that you've never dreamed of and you'll live that overcoming life of victory that rightfully belongs to you.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, it is with a renewed focus that I pray to You today. I am determined to grow in my faith and to experience Your love on a personal level so I can lead the life of victory that I was born to lead. In Jesus' name - Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion From Pastor Eric and Rita -- Declare Your Independence

Declare Your Independence
Today's Devotional Reading: Eph. 5,6; Ps. 119:1-80
December 5, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts." (Psalms 119:45)

TODAY'S WORD

It was July 4, 1776 that we declared our independence as a nation here in the USA. It was a time of great anticipation and excitement. It was a time of new beginnings and new freedoms.

Today, no matter what you may be facing, no matter what is trying to hold you back, let this be your day of independence and freedom. Declare your independence from sickness! Declare your independence from fear! Declare your independence from lack! Then, declare your total dependence on God, and release your past, accept His forgiveness, and let Him set you free to walk the abundant life of victory He has for you.

You may still have some battles to fight, but victory is on the horizon! When the enemy knows you are not going to give up, he will surrender!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, we are a nation that was founded on Your principles and teachings. Today I will honor You by declaring my independence from the things that are holding me back. Victory will be mine, thanks to a God who believes in me and walks beside me through my battles. In Jesus' name, Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion From Pastor Eric & Rita-- God Didn't Intend For Us To Go It Alone

God Didn't Intend For Us To Go It Alone
Today's Devotional Reading: Eph. 1-4
December 4, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"In Him, and in fellowship with one another, you yourselves are also being built up..." (Ephesians 2:22)

TODAY'S WORD

The Bible says in Psalm 133:1 that it brings pleasure to the Lord to see "brethren dwell together in unity." Imagine that-when you come to church and fellowship with other believers, it brings joy to the heart of our Heavenly Father, and strengthens you as well!

It's important to find a church home where you can participate in worship, fellowship, events, small groups, and outreach opportunities. The person who benefits most from this involvement...is you!

Wherever you choose to "dwell," you will discover your new beginning and God's purpose for your life.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, I pray for the church today. Without a place for believers to belong, we would grow weak in our faith. Thank you for giving me so many opportunities to unite in communion and fellowship with my brothers and sisters in Christ. In Jesus' name - Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric and Rita -- Be a People Builder!

Be a People Builder!
Today's Devotional Reading: Rom. 13-16
December 3, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"Each of us should please his neighbor for his good, to build him up." (Romans 15:2)

TODAY'S WORD

When Jesus warned his disciples to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees in Matthew 16:6, they were thinking with their stomachs and said, "It is because we brought no bread." They began arguing and accusing one another of being irresponsible. They must have sounded like school children. "John was supposed to bring our lunch." "No, Peter was!" "I told Matthew to do it!" "It's Mark's fault!"

Jesus overhears them, and says (my paraphrase), "Uh, guys? You remember who fed five thousand people with the loaves and fishes and turned water into wine? I can handle lunch. I wasn't talking about bread. I was warning you to be careful about following the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees."

Although His disciples did not always grasp the initial meaning of His teachings or actions, Jesus didn't reprimand them in public or make them feel stupid. He made them feel loved and appreciated. In fact, six verses later, Jesus let his disciples know that He thought so highly of them that He planned to give them the keys to the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 16:19). He never embarrassed them or belittled those who served Him. He overlooked their faults and limitations and celebrated their strengths.

We are the ambassadors of Jesus, and should speak words of hope and encouragement - building others up! I believe when we focus on the strengths and gifts of those around us we will begin to see God's favor poured out on our own life in an even greater way and we will experience each and every victory that He has in store for us.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, because I am Your child I am held to a higher standard in this world. I am called to be a giver, not a taker; an encourager, not a critic. There will be an opportunity to build someone up today-I'm going to act on it! In Jesus' name, Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric and Rita -- It's Your Turn to be Resurrected!

It's Your Turn to be Resurrected!
Today's Devotional Reading: Romans 9-12
December 2, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth" (Romans 9:17).

TODAY'S WORD

Easter is a wonderful time to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ-that glorious event that changed history over 2,000 years ago. But did you know that God is still in the resurrection business today even when it's almost time for Christmas? When you are born again, your spirit is resurrected so you can have personal fellowship with God. His desire is to display His power in and through you, so that every area of your life can be resurrected -- your family, your finances, your hopes, and dreams.

If there is an area of your life today that needs God's resurrection power, call on the name of the Lord. Allow Him to display His power through you by worshipping Him, and proclaiming the greatness of His mighty name. Always remember that as a child of God, His resurrection power flows through you to enable you to live a great life!

We love and rejoice with you as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, I want to be born again into a new life with You! Please help me to let go of my old ways and to totally put You in control of my relationships, my finances, my life. Thank you for sending your precious Son so that I might have my sins erased. In Jesus' name - Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita -- Moving Forward

Moving Forward
Today's Devotional Reading: Romans 5-8
December 1, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and tirals, for we know that they are good for us -- they help us learn to endure." (Romans 5:3)

TODAY'S WORD

If God simply delivered you from every hard circumstance, and never made you grow and move forward, you would never learn to trust Him completely. Life is not always fun because it's not enjoyable to lose the "training wheels" and step out and grow in faith. But God says that He will always be with us. We just can't see the whole picture like He can. God often works behind the scenes in hard times to prepare you, train you, teach you patience, and develop your character. If you learn how to hang on through the difficult times, you'll get to see His good plan for you. Sometimes you just have to step out and receive what He has for you.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, thank You for making me strong through adversity. I also thank You that because You are faithful to me, I can be faithful to You. Give me Your wisdom to make right decisions today and the strength to stand strong in all circumstances. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita -- Keep a Good Attitude

Keep a Good Attitude
Today's Devotional Reading: Romans 1-4
November 30, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"You are among those who have been called to belong to Jesus Christ." (Romans 1:6)

TODAY'S WORD

You make a conscious choice about what kind of attitude you will have each day. If you choose to have a good attitude every morning and remember that each day is a blessing from God, then you'll set a positive tone for the rest of your day. The apostle Paul chose to be happy and content no matter what kind of circumstances he found himself in. Whether you have much or a little, choose to be happy and decide to serve the Lord faithfully with a vision of victory. God wants your joy to be full no matter what comes into your life! You my friend, have been called to belong to Jesus Christ!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, thank You for your countless blessings and continued faithfulness every day. Give me the strength to get up every morning declaring Your blessings and Your favor. Help me to win the victory You have for me today. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric and Rita -- Be Proactive in Sharing God's Love

Be Proactive in Sharing God's Love
Today's Devotional Reading: 1 Th.4,5; 2 Th. 1-3
November 29, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always aim to show kindness and seek to do good to everybody." (1 Thessalonians 5:15)

TODAY'S WORD

Are you kind and considerate to people? Do you walk in love and prefer others above yourself? This passage tells us to be proactive! Notice those words "aim" and "seek." You must be on the lookout to share God's mercy and kindness, and be good to all people. The way you treat others has a great impact on how much of the blessings and favor of God you're going to experience. Aim for kindness and seek to do good. As you do, God will reward your efforts and pour out his abundant blessing on you. As you extend God's mercy to all those around you, you will discover greatness inside of you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, I want to be a proactive Christian! Please remind me to seek out ways to serve others and to share your love with all people. Forgive me for sometimes putting myself first and help me to look for ways to share Your love with the friends and strangers I encounter today. In Jesus' name - Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric And Rita -- Celebrate New Beginnings

Celebrate New Beginnings!
Today's Devotional Reading: Mt. 28; 1 Th. 1-3
November 28, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"He is not here; he has risen, just as he said." (Matthew 28:6)

TODAY'S WORD

Jesus is Risen! I know it's not Easter, but we can celebrate this passage today and everyday! The cross is bare and the tomb is empty. His victory over sin and death provides each of us the opportunity to start over - to make a fresh, new beginning.

As Christians, we believe in new beginnings. Jesus gave us unconditional love and unlimited possibilities. He doesn't care what you've done in the past; only about your future.

We hope that during this Holiday season you find your way to a group of caring people, dedicated to worshiping the risen Lord, reaching the lost, praying for your needs and helping you discover God's perfect plan for your life.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Lord, I ask that you refresh my soul this morning. I want Jesus to come alive in my heart to resurrect my hopes and dreams and lead me to the new beginning that is Your gift to me. Thank You for delivering me from sin. In Jesus' name - Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric and Rita -- Emphasize the Positive

Emphasize the Positive
Today's Devotional Reading: Psalm 125; Mt. 26,27
November 27, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"Those who trust in the Lord are as secure as Mount Zion; they will not be defeated but will endure forever." (Psalm 125:1)

TODAY'S WORD

God is the Provider of every good and perfect gift. Although you may have some obstacles in your path right now, thank the Lord for the strength He gives you to overcome them. Thank God continually for all of the gifts He showers on you, both big and small. If you wrote down all your blessings, you would fill up every piece of paper that you own, and then some! Instead of focusing on the parts of your life that are not going as planned, choose to focus on the good things that God has put in your life. Remember, God can take what is broken and make it whole again.

He says that when we trust in Him, we will not be defeated. I speak over you right now that you will NOT be defeated. Don't let the devil rob you of your victory. God has set you up to be secure in Him. Walk in that today.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, help me to keep my focus on the many blessings you shower into my life every day. Thank You for giving me every good and perfect gift! In Jesus' Name. Amen.

We sure love you!
Eric & Rita

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric and Rita -- Give Thanks

Give Thanks
Today's Devotional Reading: Matthew 23-25
November 26, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"And he will send forth his angels with the sound of a mighty trumpet blast, and they will gather together his chosen ones from the farthest ends of the earth and heaven." (Matthew 24:31)

TODAY'S WORD

One day Jesus is going to come back for us. What a great day that will be! However, today, take time to reflect on and give thanks to God for all of His blessings in your life. Whether you are eating turkey, playing games with your family, watching football or visiting a friend, remember to take time to focus on God's goodness. Count your blessings and notice all the grace, favor and love that God has given you. Psalm 95:2 says to "come before His presence with Thanksgiving...shout joyfully to Him with psalms." No matter the circumstances in your life, give thanks and praise to God for all that He has done. Remember how good He is and that His love will endure forever. The Bible says that you show your love for God through your actions towards other people. Reach out to those around you this holiday season and share His love and forgiveness with them. You are blessed to be a blessing to others!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, no matter what the circumstances, I always give thanks to You for the blessings in my life. Help me find the time to serve others during this busy season and, in doing so, draw closer to You. In Jesus' name - Amen.

We sure love you!
Eric & Rita

Daily Devotion From Pastor Eric & Rita -- Your Best Days are Ahead!

Your Best Days are Ahead!
Today's Devotional Reading: Matthew 20-22
November 25, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"Jesus stopped in the road and called, "What do you want me to do for you?" Lord, they said, "we want to see!" Jesus felt sorry for them and touched their eyes. Instantly they could see! Then they followed him." (Matthew 20:32-34)

TODAY'S WORD

No matter where you are in life right now, God has much more in store for you. God wants to increase you-He wants to give you more wisdom so you can make better decisions. He wants you to prosper so that you can be a blessing to others. He wants to give you more money so you can be a blessing to others. Don't get stuck in that old rut where you just get up and go to work, come home, go to bed, and then do it all again. That's not all there is to life. God has new frontiers for you to explore and higher mountains to climb! He want's to open your eyes to new possibilities and potentials.

Proverbs says, "The path of the righteous gets brighter and brighter and brighter." If you're going to start experiencing these new victories, you must do your part and start thinking the way God thinks. Think big! Think expansive! Think increase! Start expecting the unexpected!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, You created the heavens and the earth and breathed life into the universe-Your plans for me are big! There is nothing I have accomplished that is as great as what you have in store for me. I believe there are great things to come. I believe in You. In Jesus' Name - Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric and Rita -- Have Faith in God's Vision

Have Faith in God's Vision
Today's Devotional Reading: Matthew 17-19
November 24, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"I assure you, even if you had faith as small as a mustard seed you could say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there," and it would move. Nothing would be impossible." (Matthew 17:20)

TODAY'S WORD

Before you're ever going to be successful, you've got to see yourself being successful. Before your dreams come to pass, you've got to look through your eyes of faith and see them come to pass.

The enemy doesn't want you to grow and increase, or fulfill your destiny. Instead he immediately tries to distract your heart and uproot the seed God planted. In order to defeat the enemy in your life, you have to stay focused on God, His Word-and the dream He's promised to you! Constantly meditate on His promises, live a life that is pleasing and honoring to God, and thank the Lord for His faithfulness no matter what the circumstances. Before long, you'll begin to see the dreams God placed in your heart come to pass. Faith as small as a mustard seed can move that mountain. Hold on and your mountain will move.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, I want to please You by living the life You planned for me. As I grow in my faith, I know that I will see you bless every area of my life. Thank you for planting seeds of greatness in me and having confidence that I will fulfill my dreams. In Jesus' Name - Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita -- Be Fruitful, not Busy

Be Fruitful, not Busy
Today's Devotional Reading: Matthew 14-16
November 23, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"Afterward he went up into the hills by himself to pray. Night fell while he was there alone. Meanwhile the disciples were in trouble far away from land, for a strong wind had risen, and they were fighting heavy waves." (Matthew 14:23-24)

TODAY'S WORD

Are you missing out on the joys of life because you are too busy? Are you over-committed? God called you to be fruitful - He never called you to be busy. Don't get activity mixed up with productivity. Just because you are on the go, and always doing things-even godly things-doesn't necessarily mean that you're fulfilling God's best plan for your life. Ok, I know what your thinking, "look who's talking Pastor Eric". I know, I know...you really do have a Pastor who understand this one.

We encourage you to prayerfully take inventory of the different activities in your life. I'm doing that. Ask the Lord to show you which areas need to be pruned, and which areas need more focus. Ask Him to show which relationships to move away from, and which relationships to cultivate in your life. Stop allowing the unfruitful areas of your life to consume all of your time, focus, and energy. As you make adjustments to bring balance to your schedule, invest in the activities and relationships that bring you joy and peace. As you do, you will experience God's abundant blessing in every area of life!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, I will find time every day to pray. I will order my steps and make time for the things that really matter. There are areas in my life that need to be pruned so I can live a more purposeful life. Thank you for your perfect plan for my life. In Jesus' Name - Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric and Rita -- God Wants You to Go For It!

God Wants You to Go For It!
Today's Devotional Reading: Mt. 11-13
November 22, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"The kingdom of Heaven suffers violence, but the violent take it by force." (Matthew 11:12)

TODAY'S WORD

Eric, it's time to be aggressive and energetic when it comes to letting go of the past and pressing forward to the abundant life God has in store. It's time to rise up and boldly go after your victory! It's time to develop a warrior mentality and proactively pursue happiness, health, and peace that is promised in God's Word.

God told Joshua to cross over the Jordan and go in and possess the land. Notice that word, "possess" implies action. It means to drive out the previous tenants. It's time to quit dwelling on past mistakes and failures and determine to never look back! As you set your focus like a flint towards the Word of God and His promises, you'll discover victory arising in every area of your life.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, I want to live the victorious life you intended for me. I know I am not perfect, but help me to focus on the future, not my past mistakes, and grant me the courage to pursue the happiness, health, and peace that you promised for me. In Jesus' name - Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric and Rita --

You Can be a Deliberate Christian!
Today's Devotional Reading: Matthew 8-10
November 21, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"And Jesus answered, 'Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!" Then he stood up and rebuked the wind and waves, and suddenly all was calm." (Matthew 8:26)

TODAY'S WORD

In order to fulfill your destiny, you have to know your purpose. Jesus knew His and even the wind and waves obeyed Him. You need a plan and then you must live according to that plan. You should wake up each day knowing where you're headed, which direction you're taking, and what you are going to accomplish - and then stick with it! Don't allow the distractions and busyness of life to steer you off course. Don't be distracted and spend your time and energy on things that are not helping you fulfill your destiny.

If you need direction for your life today, ask the Holy Spirit to show you how to order your time and arrange your schedule to accomplish God's will. Remember, as you walk in His plan for your life, you will experience His abundant blessing on everything you set your hand to! We love you and believe that God orders your every step!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, I have inside me seeds of greatness and a calling to move toward my destiny. I know that I need to be focused, and not just busy, to live out my purpose in life. I will order my steps for Your glory. In Jesus' Name - Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita -- Refuse To Worry!

Refuse to Worry!
Today's Devotional Reading: Matthew 5-7
November 20, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"Who of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?" (Matthew 6:27)

TODAY'S WORD

Worrying gives the devil the opportunity to move, just like worship gives God the opportunity to move. Worrying means to play the enemy's lies in your mind, over and over again. God promises in Isaiah 26:3 that He will keep us in perfect peace when we keep our minds stayed on Him. So when the opportunity to worry comes, use it as a reminder to worship the Lord and thank Him for His good and precious promises! Cast all of your cares on the Lord, because He cares for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, I am weary from worrying. Please help me to stop the soundtrack of needless worry that plays over and over again in my head. I want to place my fears and concerns in Your hands and live in peace knowing that You will fulfill all of your precious promises to me. In Jesus' name - Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric and Rita -- What Gifts Will You Bring?

What Gifts Will You Bring?
Today's Devotional Reading: Matthew 1-4
November 19, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down to worship Him. Then they opened their treasures and presented Him gifts..." (Matthew 2:11)

TODAY'S WORD

Can you image how the wise men felt as they first looked upon our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! As part of their worship, they wanted to give Him gifts. They gave valuable presents to symbolize the love, honor, and appreciation in their hearts. In the same way, you can show your love and appreciation as you give gifts to others.

As we get ready to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ during this holiday season, remember to show your love and appreciation to those around you. Not just through material gifts, but through words of love, kindness, and encouragement. Go out of your way to show honor to others, just like the wise men went out of their way to show honor to Jesus..

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, I will give of myself this season and honor the people in my life with my love, kindness and appreciation. In doing so, I honor You. Thank you for the gift of Your precious son. In Jesus' Name - Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita -- God Loves a Cheerful Giver

God Loves a Cheerful Giver
Today's Devotional Reading: Psalm 124; 2 Cor 11-13
November 18, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"You must each make up your own mind as to how much you should give. Don't give reluctantly or in response to pressure. For God loves the person who gives cheerfully." (2 Corinthians 9:7)

TODAY'S WORD

Giving is not a decision that should come from your head, it should come from your heart-where the Lord speaks to you. The Bible encourages each person to give "what he decides in his heart."

Let me encourage you to seek the Lord and follow the instructions He gives to your heart. God uses His people to advance the Kingdom in this generation, and generations to come.

We believe God has great things in store for you! He is using you to make a real difference and that's exciting! When you give to the best of your ability-and are truly eager to give-you can make an impact in your community and help take the gospel of Christ to the nations.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, I want to be a cheerful giver. Please help me to be mindful of the fact that all I have is Yours. It is an awesome honor and responsibility to be able to share Your Word with the world. Speak to my heart and help me decide what I can give back to You. In Jesus' name - Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion From Pastor Eric & Rita -- Exercise Your Faith!

Exercise Your Faith!
Today's Devotional Reading: 2 Cor. 7-10
November 17, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"But just as you excel in everything-in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for us-see that you also excel in this grace of giving." (2 Corinthians 8:7).

TODAY'S WORD

Eric, as a born-again believer, you have unlimited potential. Because of Christ in you, you can walk in unlimited faith, knowledge, love, and victory. The Bible encourages you to excel and grow in these areas and as you do, you will begin to experience that overcoming life of victory that God has in store for you. How do you excel in these areas? Just as a muscle grows when you exercise it, your faith grows when you exercise it-your love grows when you exercise it, and the grace to give grows when you exercise it.

So make a commitment today to start your new exercise program and see what God does in you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, I want to grow strong in my faith! Please help me to exercise my faith daily by reading my Bible, praying, and staying in fellowship with other Christians. Help me to reach my full potential, God, by living, loving, and giving the way You intended. In Jesus' name - Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion From Pastor Eric & Rita -- The Divine Stamp of Approval

The Divine Stamp of Approval
Today's Devotional Reading: 2 Cor. 3-6
November 16, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"We are confident of all this because of our great trust in God through Christ. It is not that we think we are qualified to do anything on our own. Our qualification comes from God." (2 Cor 3:4-5 NLT)

TODAY'S WORD

You are approved by Almighty God! You are created in His image and you're the apple of His eye. You did not choose God, but He chose you and He is pleased with you-His most precious creation.

Notice that verse doesn't say that God approves you as long as you don't have any faults, or as long as you don't make any mistakes. No, God approves you unconditionally. No matter how many weaknesses you may think you have today, no matter how many times you fall in your walk with God, you've got to get right back up again and hold your head up high. Don't allow the enemy to bring strife into your life by deceiving you into thinking that you are not "good enough" for the plan of God. Stand strong in your thoughts about yourself knowing that not only have you been chosen, but you are approved by Almighty God.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, Thank you for your unconditional acceptance. I was made in Your image and born with your approval...and that makes me good enough for any challenge I face in this life. I will hold my head up high and look for opportunities to share this message with my brothers and sisters in Christ. In Jesus' Name - Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric and Rita -- We are Weak, He is Strong

We are Weak, He Is Strong
Today's Devotional Reading: Job 41,42; 2 Cor. 1, 2
November 15, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"Thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of Him." (II Corinthians 2:14)

TODAY'S WORD

Have you ever noticed that Satan always chooses just the right time to attack you? When you haven't had enough rest, when you haven't been spending time daily with the Lord, when the demands on your time and energy seem overwhelming - that's when the enemy tries to pull the rug out from under you.

The good news is - even that rug is under God's feet. And God always has victory in mind! He will never allow Satan to discourage you without a plan for your ultimate success! We may not always choose to follow Christ to victory, but He is always leading the way!

God wants to give you the victory because He loves you, and because it will be a testimony to His goodness for all to see. Choose today to rise up and take authority over any area of your life that's keeping you in defeat. Be on the aggressive. Be on the offensive. Stay focused and determined, and God will take you places you've never dreamed of. Claim His promises of joy and abundance with confidence and rejoice in the triumph that God has in store for you today!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, open my eyes to the things in my life that are dragging me down. Help me always be on guard over my spiritual life. Help me to be alert and to stay focused on the plan that You have for me. In Jesus' name - Amen.

We sure love you!
Eric & Rita

Daily Devotion From Pastor Eric & Rita -- Stand Up To Opposition.

Stand up to Opposition!
Today's Devotional Reading: Psalm 149; 1 Cor. 15,16
November 14, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"A wide door has been open to me and with it are many adversaries." (I Corinthians 16:9)

TODAY'S WORD

God is always giving us opportunities to move forward in life. It is God's desire that you grow and reach your full potential. Anytime you take a step forward, the enemy will try to bring opposition and adversity against you. But God also promises that through Him, you can overcome any opposition the enemy brings your way.

When you step out in faith and the opposition comes, stand your ground and keep doing what you know to do. Keep on praying. Keep reading the Word. Keep going to church. Keep walking in love and forgiveness, and keep your heart tender. When the enemy sees that you are more determined than he is, he'll back down and you will move forward to new levels of victory! Stay focused and full of joy no matter what comes against you. As you do, you will overcome opposition!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, when I step out in faith I want to stand strong against opposition. I will put on the full armor of faith so that I will be prepared for whatever comes my way. You are always by my side. In Jesus' name, Amen.

We sure love you!
Eric & Rita

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita -- The Greatest is Love

...the Greatest Is Love
Today's Devotional Reading: Job 39,40; 1 Cor. 13,14
November 13, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"And now these things remain-faith, hope, and love-but the greatest of these is love. Therefore, let love be your greatest aim..." (I Corinthians 13:13-14)

TODAY'S WORD

Is love your greatest aim? When you wake up in the morning, do you seek opportunities to show love and prefer others, or do you look for ways that you can get ahead and gain status or position?

When you make love your greatest aim, and seek to serve other people regardless of tangible benefit, you close the door to the enemy's plan for your life and open the door for God's abundant blessings to pour out on you!

Disarm the enemy by choosing to walk in love and peace. Refuse to be jealous or selfish, and at all costs, avoid strife. Meditate on I Corinthians 13 and allow God's word to sink deep into your heart.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, I have faith in Jesus, confidence in Your plan for my life, and hope for eternity in heaven. But it is love that You value above all else. I am going to show love to those around me every day. I will have the strength to turn the other cheek and avoid strife today. In Jesus' name, Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion with Pastor Eric & Rita -- Overcoming Obstacles to Victory

Overcoming Obstacles to Victory
Today's Devotional Reading: Job 37,38; 1 Cor 12
November 12, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"My heart pounds as I think of this. It trembles within me.
Listen carefully to the thunder of God's voice as it rolls from his mouth.. " (Job 37:1-2 NLT)

TODAY'S WORD

God is always giving you opportunities to move forward in life. It's time to listen carefully to the voice of God in your life. It is God's desire that you grow and reach your full potential. Anytime you take a step forward, the enemy will try to bring opposition and adversity against you. But God also promises that through Him, you can overcome any opposition the enemy brings your way. God is about to let Job know how big He really is.

As you do, you will overcome opposition and discover a whole new world in you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, I will be the steadfast Christian You called me to be with the help of prayer, Bible study, and Christian fellowship. I have faith that I will overcome whatever comes my way. In Jesus' Name - Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita -- Fight the Good Fight

Fight the Good Fight
Today's Devotional Reading: Psalm 122; 1 Cor 9-11
November 11, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize. " (1 Cor 9:27 NIV)

TODAY'S WORD

Anyone can be obedient, keep a good attitude and stay full of joy when things are going well. But what kind of attitude do you have when times get tough and things don't go your way? Will you stay faithful and keep pressing on even when it seems you're making no progress? Will you bring your will and your body into subjection?

Sometimes God allows trials to test us, to refine and purify our faith. Remember - anyone can quit. Anyone can complain. But God is looking for people who will persevere until the very end. Stand strong and fight the good fight of faith. When you do you live a life of abundance and you will be a victor in life!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, I have what it takes to overcome adversity and arise victorious! I know You will never disappoint me and will be present in troubled times. I am determined to have an attitude of gratitude no matter what I face. In Jesus' Name - Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion From Pastor Eric & Rita -- God's Peace Is In You!

God's Peace is in You!
Today's Devotional Reading: Job 35,36; 1 Cor 7-8
November 10, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"Yes, each of you should remain as you were when God called you. Are you a slave? Don't let that worry you-but if you get a chance to be free, take it. And remember, if you were a slave when the Lord called you, you are now free in the Lord. And if you were free when the Lord called you, you are now a slave of Christ. God paid a high price for you, so don't be enslaved by the world." (I Corinthians 7:20-23)

TODAY'S WORD

Jesus said in John 14:27, "I'm leaving you My peace. I'm giving it unto you." The Amplified version says, "Now stop allowing yourself to be agitated and disturbed. And do not permit yourselves to become unsettled." God has done His part to give you His peace. As a child of God, His peace is on the inside of you right now. You've got to do your part and make the decision to live in peace.

When negative circumstances arise, and you make the choice to stay calm and live in peace, you are showing that you have faith and trust in God. You are saying, "God, I know that You are in control, I know that You're going to see me through. I know that no weapon formed against me is going to prosper." Today, choose to keep peace in your life. When you cast your burdens on Him, He promises to sustain you-that's a place of true peace, a place of lasting power!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, what an amazing discovery to find that Your perfect peace is within me! I trust You and will tap into that peace when life tries to steal it away. Thank you for giving me power over negative attitudes! In Jesus' Name - Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita -- God Loves Your Uniqueness!

God Loves Your Uniqueness!
Today's Devotional Reading: Job 34; 1 Cor. 4-6
November 9, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself." (I Corinthians 4:3)

TODAY'S WORD

You are anointed to be the person God has called you to be! The enemy may try to make you think you have to conform to the opinions of others, but if you are secure in who God made you, you can resist those outside demands and pressures that try to mold you into something you're not. Don't rely on the opinions and approval of others. Don't let them steal your unique creativity. God made each of us with a different purpose. As you continue to grow in your relationship with the Lord, through prayer, worship, and fellowship, you will gain confidence in the Lord that will free you from the opinions of man, and allow you to be who God called you to be!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, I want to live for your approval alone. I need to feel your strength when I feel tempted to change who I am to conform to this world. Please help me to remember that You love me just the way I am! In Jesus' name - Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita -- The Best Is Yet To Come!

The Best Is Yet to Come
Today's Devotional Reading: Job 33; 1 Cor. 1-3
November 8, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"No man has ever seen, heard, or even imagined the wonderful things God has in store for those who love the Lord." (I Corinthians 2:9)

TODAY'S WORD

No matter where you are in life right now, God has much more in store for you. God wants to increase you. He wants to give you more wisdom so you can make better decisions. He wants to give you a stronger anointing so you can have greater influence. He wants you to prosper financially so you can be a blessing to others. Don't get stuck in that old rut where you just get up and go to work, come home, go to bed, and then do it all again. That's not all there is to life. God has new frontiers for you to explore and higher mountains to climb! We can tell you with great confidence that your best days are right out in front of you.

God, sometimes the busyness of life consumes me and I forget the important things. Increase me and give me higher mountains to climb! I want to be all you've created me to be and I am ready to experience the wonderful things you have in store for me! In Jesus' name - Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita -- Get Your Hopes Up!

Get Your Hopes Up!
Today's Devotional Reading: Job 31,32; Gal 5,6
November 7, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"But by faith we eagerly await through the Spirit the righteousness for which we hope." Galatians 5:5

TODAY'S WORD

What are you expecting in life-good things? Bad things? Big things? Little things? Anything at all? God wants you to get your hopes up! The Bible says, "Faith is the substance of things hoped for." One definition of hope is confident expectancy. Did you know you can't even have faith if you don't first have hope?

Your expectations set the limits for your life. If you never expect anything good, you're never going to receive anything good. If you don't expect things to get better, then nothing will get better. God promises to meet you at your level of expectancy. That's why Jesus said in Matthew 9:29: "According to your faith be it done unto you." One translation simply says: "Have what your faith expects."

Make the decision to expect the favor of God in your life! Start expecting to overcome every challenge you face! Start expecting God to meet all of your needs! Live every day of your life filled with anticipation that God is going to bless you exceedingly, abundantly above and beyond your wildest dreams! Think increase! Start expecting the unexpected!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, I want to grow in my faith this year. I believe that You want the best for me. Help me learn to expect to be blessed and to face challenges with the confidence that You will see me through. In Jesus' name - Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita - God Honors Those Who Persevere

God Honors Those Who Persevere
Today's Devotional Reading: Job 30; Ps. 120; Gal 3,4
November 6, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"I took my troubles to the Lord; I cried out to him, and he answered my prayer. " (Psalm 120:1 NLT)

TODAY'S WORD

We all face challenges, difficulties, and times when things don't go as planned. Have you ever noticed that it's in times of difficulty that we grow and develop? Those times are opportunities to allow God's Word to come alive in your life and see you through to victory. God will use your challenges to stretch you, and enlarge your vision.

We encourage you to be faithful during your adversity. Make up your mind to serve God no matter what comes against you, and God will honor you. Hold your head up high knowing that no matter what the situation looks like today, God will reward your faithfulness. Fight the good fight of faith. You are being prepared for promotion. And if you'll simply remain faithful and fight through life, then in due season, God will promote you to new levels of victory and you'll live that abundant life that He has promised you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, I can face the challenges in my life with my head held high, knowing You have confidence in me. Open my eyes to the good that will come from it. In Jesus' Name - Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotional from Pastor Eric & Rita -- You are Favored

You are Favored
Today's Devotional Reading: Job 28,29; Gal 1, 2
November 5, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"But even before I was born, God chose me and called me by his marvelous grace. Then it pleased him " (Gal 1:15 NLT)

TODAY'S WORD

Did you know that as a child of God, you are highly favored? No matter what you may have done in the past, as soon as you make Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior, you have favor with God! Paul didn't understand how or why he had God's favor, or what that favor was for -- he just knew God chose him.

God has chosen you. Yes, you must believe it. We are here to tell you this morning God choose you. Friend, you have God's favor for the very same reason as Paul --because God chose you and made you a pure and holy vessel to bring Christ to your home, workplace, and even the world. Wow, what marvelous grace!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, I am blessed to be highly favored! There are friends, co-workers, even family members who need to hear Your message. God, You can count on me to share Your Word with the world. In Jesus' Name - Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita -- Let Go of the Past

Let go of the Past
Today's Devotional Reading: Job 26,27; Mk. 15, 16
November 4, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"When the Roman officer who stood facing him[ saw how he had died, he exclaimed, "This man truly was the Son of God!"." (Mark 15:39)

TODAY'S WORD

The first step in moving forward into a fresh future is forgetting the disappointments of yesterday. No matter what people have done to you, or how unfair life has been, God is able to bring you out stronger than before. God wants the rest of your life to be more blessed than the first part-greater, in fact, than anything you could ever imagine. Unfortunately, too many people quit believing for more when they face tough times. They quit expecting anything good to happen. The truth is, our hardships and trials are really opportunities for us to go higher.

Rita and I have been looking at the list of those getting this daily devotional, it is growing and we are so glad you are enjoying what we are sharing. We know times can be tough and each morning as these go out we pray for you.

Whatever struggles you're going through right now, no matter how large or small . . . they are subject to change. Nothing may look right in your life today, but it's all subject to change. God is working behind the scenes on your behalf!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, I feel at peace with my situation knowing You are behind the scenes, preparing a fantastic future for me. I am going to let go of the past and believe for more blessing and abundance in the days to come. In Jesus' Name - Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion From Pastor Eric & Rita -- Double Your Blessings

Double Your Blessings
Today's Devotional Reading: Job 25; Mk. 13, 14
November 3, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"Meanwhile, Jesus was in Bethany at the home of Simon, a man who had previously had leprosy. While he was eating, a woman came in with a beautiful alabaster jar of expensive perfume made from essence of nard. She broke open the jar and poured the perfume over his head." (Mark 14:3)

TODAY'S WORD

Like most parents we love to take Alyssa to get ice cream. The other day, I was watching some parents with their little girl when she was bumped by one of her friends; down went her cone and out came the tears. A few moments latter I saw dad come out of the ice cream shop with not just a single scoop for his little girl, but rather a triple scoop. Score, that's something I would have done!

Do you know that when God restores what you have lost, He doesn't just give you a single scoop . . . He promises to give you more than you have lost! No matter what has been taken away from you, no matter what you've lost or experienced in the past, if you give it over to the Lord, He will return to you more than you could ask or imagine. He'll make things right and give you more than what was lost or stolen. He'll restore double what was lost!

Like the woman who lavished on Jesus before his death something very expensive, He wants to lavish on you today!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, I believe my better days are still to come. The pain in my life prepares me to receive twice what I have lost, so I will face whatever comes with steadfast faith. Thank you for giving me this hope. In Jesus' Name - Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita -- Don't Let the Past Poison Your Future

Don't Let the Past Poison Your Future
Today's Devotional Reading: Job 23,24; Mk 11, 12
November 2, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"So he will do to me whatever he has planned. He controls my destiny." (Job 23:14)

TODAY'S WORD

Too many people today spend their days looking in the rearview mirror of their lives. You don't have to deny that painful things have happened to you. If you have lost a job, been mistreated, or had a loved one die, those are real hurts.

What we are saying is that you need to leave those things in the past and move on. If you carry those disappointments around with you, you are going to start each day telling yourself, "God couldn't possibly have anything good for me today because of what happened yesterday."

You have to let go of any shattered dreams, quit dwelling on any disappointments, and forgive the people who have hurt you. Release all that bitterness - God promises to give you a new beginning!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, I am ready to trade the ashes of the past for the beauty in my future. There are painful things in my past, hurts that I have been hanging on to, but it's joy that I want instead. I embrace Your promise for a fresh future! In Jesus' Name - Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita -- Be Future Focused!

Be Future Focused!
Today's Devotional Reading: Ps. 121; Mk. 9, 10
November 1, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth! He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber." (Psalm 121:2-3)

TODAY'S WORD

God promises you new mercies each morning. That means even though you may have done something last week that you're not proud of, you don't have to carry that around with you. You simply need to receive God's mercy and forgiveness today and go on.

Yesterday, I worked on a large move and today I'm paying for it, but as I read these words in Psalm I know that my help comes from the one who made heaven and earth. He watches over you and I.

Dream a new dream. God still has great things in store for you. But you have to do your part and keep pursuing it. Keep believing for God's best. Don't settle for second best, not good enough, or barely getting by. God wants to give you the very best for the brightest future you could possibly imagine!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, I thank You for burying my past in the sea of Your forgetfulness and forgiveness. I'm asking for Your fresh mercies today. I'm asking You to pour out Your favor and blessings on my life. In Jesus' Name - Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita -- Let Hope Fill Your Heart

Let Hope Fill Your Heart
Today's Devotional Reading: Job 22; Mk. 7,8
October 31, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"You will succeed in whatever you choose to do, and light will shine on the road ahead of you." (Job 22:28 NLT)

TODAY'S WORD

Do you want to be set free from bitterness and resentment? All you need to do is keep your heart pure and start each day by letting go of the baggage of the past. Don't try to collect a debt from others that only God can pay. If you'll leave it up to Him, God will return to you more than what you have lost.

God is on your side! He wants you to feel good about yourself and have a positive vision for your life. After all, God knows when you have a heart to please Him. And as you continue to please Him, you'll experience that life of victory He has in store for you.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, This is going to be a great day! I thank You that I'm going to do what I need to do to let go of the past, that I have discipline and self-control, and that I can make good decisions. In Jesus' Name - Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita -- Good New Travels Fast

Good News Travels Fast
Today's Devotional Reading: Job 21; Mk 5, 6
October 30, 2009

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things." (Mark 6:34)

TODAY'S WORD

Now Simon's mother-in-law was lying sick with a fever; and immediately they spoke to Jesus about her. And He came to her and raised her up, taking her by the hand, and the fever left her, and she waited on them. When evening came, after the sun had set, they began bringing to Him all who were ill and those who were demon-possessed. And the whole city had gathered at the door." (Mark 1:30-33)

Amazing things happen when we share the Word of God. People who were lost and hopeless are finding life and purpose. People who were depressed and discouraged are receiving encouragement and renewed strength. Those who were sick and hurting are being healed in their bodies and their minds. And individuals who believed they were failures are discovering the champions that God made them to be.

As Jesus' disciples soon learned in Jerusalem, this kind of good news travels fast. When God's hand is moving in a supernatural way, the whole city will soon be gathered at your door. It is true in your home church. Each week, people from our neighborhoods, and our nation, make their way to our door. In the name of Jesus, welcome them with the same kind of love and compassion that He showed to the multitudes that followed Him.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, give me the opportunity to extend my hand in welcome and friendship to someone this week. There are so many who are seeking a place to belong where they feel loved and accepted ... and I know the way. Help me to serve as Your ambassador in my church and in my world. In Jesus' name, Amen.

We sure love you!
