Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita - Take Your Medicine

Take Your Medicine
Today's Devotional Reading: Proverbs 16-18; Romans 12
May 31, 2011

By reading the scripture above each day you will read the Old Testament through in one year and the New Testament through twice in a year. This will change your life. Start Today!
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"A happy heart is good medicine and a cheerful mind works healing, but a broken spirit dries up the bones" (Proverbs 17:22, AMP).

TODAY'S WORD

, so many people today live with sickness, headaches, digestive problems, lack of energy and so much more because they don't have the joy they should. They aren't sleeping well at night and living under so much stress and pressure. Now there are real things that go on in our bodies, but the Bible tells us that when we are happy and joyful, it's like medicine to our bodies. One of the greatest stress relievers God has given us is the gift of laughter. It not only makes you feel better, but it actually releases healing throughout your system. In fact, medical science tells us that when people laugh, it boosts their immune system. It reduces blood pressure. People who laugh regularly are 40% less likely to have a heart attack than people that don't laugh regularly. Laughter triggers the right side of the brain, which helps release creativity so we can make better decisions. Laughter activates the body's natural tranquilizers that not only help us calm down, but it helps us sleep better.

If you need to rejuvenate your mind and body, it's time to take your medicine! Make time to laugh every single day. Don't take yourself so seriously. When you approach life with a happy, light-hearted attitude, you'll begin to rise higher and higher into the life of health and blessing the Lord has in store for you.

A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of laughter. Help me to see the joy in all circumstances so I can receive Your inner healing. Show me ways to help those around me so together we can live in Your joy and strength. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

We sure love you!

May 30, 2011

By reading the scripture above each day you will read the Old Testament through in one year and the New Testament through twice in a year. This will change your life. Start Today!

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"And I will make My covenant (solemn pledge) between Me and you and will multiply you exceedingly" (Genesis 17:2, AMP).

TODAY'S WORD
, God is in the multiplication business. It doesn't matter what your need is today, God wants to increase you. This morning I was thinking about Eastside, good friends, and of course freedom. So many people have died in order that you and I might be free and all too often we sit in our own little "pity party". But God wants to multiply blessing in your life.

One time in the Old Testament, God simply multiplied the sound of four men's footsteps and caused them to sound like a mighty army. When their enemies heard them coming, they took off running. Thousands of people, thousands of troops running for their lives, scared to death, thinking they were being attacked by a massive army, when in fact, it was just four people.

, God can make you seem bigger than you really are. He can make you look more powerful. He knows how to multiply your influence, your strength, your talent. He can multiply your income or whatever else you need! You don't have to figure it all out. All you have to do is believe. If you will release your faith and get up every day expecting God's far and beyond favor, then you're going to see God show up and do amazing things. He'll bless you beyond your wildest dreams and multiply you in every area of your life!

A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY

"Father God, thank You for Your faithfulness in my life. Thank You for Your promise to bless and multiply me. Direct my steps and keep me close to You as I stand in faith for the good things You have in store for me. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

, we sure love and believe in you. Live Blessed and have a great Memorial Day!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita - The Secret Things

The Secret Things
Today's Devotional Reading:
Proverbs 10-12; Romans 10

May 29, 2011

By reading the scripture above each day you will read the Old Testament through in one year and the New Testament through twice in a year. This will change your life. Start Today!

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"To learn, you must love discipline; it is stupid to hate correction." (Proverbs 12:1 NLT).

TODAY'S WORD
,  are you going through a situation in your life that you don't quite understand? During these seasons, it's natural to question things in your mind. But during these uncertain times, it's important to continue to put your trust in God.

We have to remember, God's ways are not our ways, and we don't always understand what He is trying to do in our lives. The Bible tells us that adversity will come, but God is the one who promises to lead us into victory.

Serving God means we're going to have some unanswered questions. You may never understand why a relationship ended sooner than you would have liked. You may never understand why you lost a loved one. You may never understand why you went through something difficult or why your prayers didn't get answered. But at some point, you have to decide to put your questions aside and go on with God. We have to decide to trust His character even when our circumstances don't make sense. Remember, He has promised He's going to turn that difficulty around and use it for your advantage. He is faithful to His Word, and you can be sure that He will fulfill every promise He's made to you

A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY

"Father God, I choose to trust You with my unanswered questions. I choose to release any doubt and confusion to You. Help me to focus on Your Word which is truth that sets me free. Thank You for Your goodness and for the blessings You have in store for me. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

, we sure love and believe in you. Live Blessed!
