Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita - He Improves Those He Loves

He Improves Those He Loves
Today's Devotional Reading: 2 Sam 6; 1 Chr. 13; Ps. 68; Mt. 17
April 30, 2010

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"...God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in His holiness" (Hebrews 12:10).

TODAY'S WORD

Aren't you glad that the God of this universe loves us enough to discipline and shape our character? Webster's Dictionary defines "discipline" as training that corrects, molds, or perfects mental faculties or moral character. God improves our character through His training. While you are on this earth, you are constantly in spiritual training. Your faith is being trained, your character is being trained, and your heart is being trained to be more like Him. God is training us so that we can be holy, or set apart, in our mind, will, and emotions. Holiness is important to God because the Bible says that without holiness, we won't be able to see Him. God doesn't want anything to come between you and Him. He wants to be with you. That's why He chose to make your heart His home. When you allow Him to shape, train, and improve your character, you will be holy, and you will see Him. Receive His loving guidance today as He shapes and trains your character. Let Him work in your life and respond to His tender leading. As you do, you'll rise higher in every area and live the life of victory the Lord has planned for you.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father, thank You for Your discipline in my life. Thank You for molding and shaping my character so that I can be more like You. I welcome Your correction and submit myself to You in every area of my life. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita - It Only Takes a Spark

It Only Takes a Spark
Today's Devotional Reading: 2 Sam. 4, 5; Ps. 139 Mt. 16
April 29, 2010

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb." (Psalm 139:13)

TODAY'S WORD

You are a person of destiny! God chose you to be here before the foundation of the world. God knew you before you were ever formed in your mother's womb. God made you with a purpose and you are a vital part of His divine plan.

You may not realize it right now, but you have God-given dreams and desires inside of you. The dream starts like a little flame, and throughout life you have to constantly add fuel to the fire to help it grow. As you continue to fellowship with Him and with fellow believers, God will reveal Himself to you in ways you never thought possible. He will reveal the dreams in your heart, and bring them to pass!

As you continue to seek the Lord and His wonderful plan for your life, you will discover victory in every area -- stay on the path!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, reveal yourself to me. I am ready to live the life you planned for me! You knew me before I was even born and I trust that You will lead me to victory in this life. In Jesus' name - Amen.

We sure love you!

Look Straight Ahead
Today's Devotional Reading: 2 Sam 3; 1 Chr. 12; Mt. 15
April 28, 2010
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"Let your eyes look straight ahead, fix your gaze directly before you"
(Proverbs 4:25)
TODAY'S WORD
,what are you looking at today? I don't mean in the natural,
but in the
spiritual. What is in the forefront of your mind and heart? Are you
constantly dwelling on your problems or things that have happened in
your past? In the natural, you will move in the direction that your eyes
are looking. In the spiritual, it works the same way. Whatever you
focus your mind and heart on, you will move toward. That's why this
verse tells us to look straight ahead. If you are constantly dwelling on
your problems or things in your past, wondering "what if", then you
will stay right where you are. But if you choose to forgive and release
the past, then you can focus on what is ahead of you, and you'll begin
to move forward. God doesn't want you to live in the past. He wants you
to meditate on His goodness and believe His promises so that you can
keep growing. God is a creative God, and He has designed a wonderful
future for you. Look straight ahead so you can see it and move forward
into the life of victory God has promised!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Heavenly Father, today I set my focus on You.
I choose to forget the past by forgiving others so that I can look
straight ahead to Your promises. I ask that You direct my heart on the
path of life that You have for me. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
Focus on the Unseen
Today's Devotional Reading: 2 Sam 2; 1 Chr. 11; Ps. 142; Mt. 14
April 27, 2010
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what
is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal" (2 Corinthians
4:18)
TODAY'S WORD
,every obstacle in your life is subject to change. It doesn't
matter what
you may be facing, there is an answer in the unseen. The unseen is the
spiritual realm where the promises of God exist. Your faith brings those
unseen things into this natural realm. When you are fixed on something,
you can't be moved. There's a determination that fuels your focus. When
you fix your eyes on the unseen-the promises of God-your faith will not
be moved by your circumstances and you'll eventually see those promises
come to pass. Make the decision today to fix your eyes and mind on the
promises of God. Meditate on His promises until they become more real to
you than the air you breathe. Declare that His promises will come to
pass in your life. Declare that you have His favor. Declare that you are
more than a conqueror. Don't allow fear and doubt to change what you
are speaking over your life. As you continue to fix your spiritual eyes
on the unseen promises of God, you will see those things come to pass in
the natural, and you will move forward into the abundant life the Lord
has for you!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father God, today I choose to fix my eyes on You. I choose to fix my
mind and heart on Your promises no matter what it looks like in this
natural world. I know that Your Word is true and that Your promises will
be fulfilled in my life. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Expect Good Things
Today's Devotional Reading: 2 Sam 1; Ps. 140; Mt. 13
April 26, 2010
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
""Surely goodness and loving-kindness will follow me all the days of my
life..." (Psalm 23:6).
TODAY'S WORD
,what are you expecting today? Are you expecting to rise higher
in life?
Are you expecting good breaks? Are you expecting goodness to follow you
everywhere you go? If you are expecting to get the short end of the
stick, your own wrong thinking will keep you in mediocrity. Remember,
God will meet you at the level of your expectations. Pay attention to
what you are thinking about and make the choice to believe God for good
things. Every day, imagine there are blessings, favor, increase, and
promotion in your path. They already have your name on them! It's just a
matter of time before you come across them. Start confessing every day,
"Something good is going to happen to me today." Stand strong when
trouble comes, knowing that your best days are ahead. Believe that God's
blessings will overtake you! Expect goodness and mercy to chase you
down. If you'll learn to raise your level of expectancy, God will pour
out His blessings and favor on you. You'll rise to new levels, and
you'll live the life of victory He has in store.
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Heavenly Father, today I expect Your goodness and loving-kindness to
surround me. I choose to believe that my best days are right out in
front of me. Help me stand strong in You so that I can see Your blessing
in every area of my life. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita - He is the Deliverer
He is The Deliverer
Today's Devotional Reading: 1 Sam 30,31; 1 Chr. 10; Mt. 12
April 25, 2010
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"A Righteous man may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all" (Psalm 34:19).
TODAY'S WORD
No matter what "troubles" you may be facing today, God has promised to deliver you! And notice this verse doesn't say He's going to deliver you from "some" of your troubles - "if you say and do everything perfectly." No, if you are righteous today, God promises to deliver you from all of your troubles. How do you know if you are righteous? When you receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, when you accept His forgiveness and believe He is working in your life, then you are righteous. Your faith and belief in the goodness of God is His righteousness at work in your heart. The Bible says in Romans 4, that "Abraham believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness." If you are facing troubles today, expect that God has a way of escape for you. Expect that He is working behind the scenes on your behalf. Meditate on this verse and let it sink deep into your heart. Know that God is good and He is your Deliverer today. Believe in His goodness and faithfulness and He will deliver you into the life of victory that He has planned!.
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Heavenly Father, thank you for making me righteous by the blood of Jesus. I receive Your promises and choose to believe that You are working behind the scenes on my behalf. Thank You for being my Deliverer today and always! In Jesus' Name. Amen.
We sure love you!
Daily Devotions from Pastor Eric & Rita - He Withholds No Good Thing
He Withholds No Good Thing
Today's Devotional Reading: 1 Sam 28,29; Ps. 109; Mt. 11
April 24, 2010
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does He withhold from those whose walk is blameless" (Psalm 84:11).
TODAY'S WORD
What do you need from the Lord today? Do you need peace, provision, guidance? The Word of God promises that no good thing will He withhold from those who walk blamelessly before Him. Now you may be thinking, "Eric, I'm not perfect. How can I have a blameless walk?" The Good News is, when you receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you automatically have a new walk. The past is erased in God's eyes. And sure, you may make mistakes but I John 1:9 says, "If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness." When you repent of your sins and receive God's forgiveness you are cleansed and your walk is blameless. You have to understand that God wants to pour His favor and honor on you. If you feel like there is anything in your life that you need to be cleansed from, go to the Father today and confess it to Him. Let Him make you new so that you can receive the good things He has in store for you! Let Him be pour His blessing on you so that you can walk in victory all the days of your life!.
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Heavenly Father, thank you for loving me and choosing to pour out your favor and blessing on me today. Thank you for giving me a new beginning and making me blameless in your eyes. Search my heart today and show me if there is anything that would keep me from you today. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
We sure love you!
Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita - Free From Shame
Free From Shame
Today's Devotional Reading: 1 Sam 25,26; Ps. 63; Mt. 9
April 22, 2010
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"Let my heart be sound (sincere and wholehearted and blameless) in Your statutes, that I may not be put to shame" (Psalm 119:80 AMP).
TODAY'S WORD
Did you know the Word of God will protect you from shame and embarrassment? God's laws, or statutes, were established to guide and protect you. When you follow His Word, you can be sure that you are making clear, sound choices. You can be sure that you are making the very best decisions. The Bible calls the enemy the "accuser of the brethren." That means he's trying to make you feel guilty, shameful, and condemned. He's trying to make you second guess yourself. But remember, the enemy is defeated. You are free from shame! The enemy has no legal power over you unless you open the door to him. Keep the door closed by submitting yourself to God and His Word. Ask the Lord to give you a whole and blameless heart to follow His commands. As you do, you will walk in His protection and guidance and live free from shame today!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, thank You for Your Word which guides and protects me. Thank You for giving me the ability to make right choices according to Your Word. Give me a sincere and blameless heart that I may serve You all the days of my life. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
We sure love you!
Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita - Crave Him
Crave Him
Today's Devotional Reading: 1 Sam 24; Ps. 57,58; 1 Chr. 8; Mt. 8
April 21, 2010
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"Blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) are they who keep His testimonies, and who seek, inquire for and of Him and crave Him with a whole heart" (Psalm 119:2 AMP) .
TODAY'S WORD
Often times when we hear the word "crave", we automatically think about food cravings. Cravings can be triggered by just about anything. You may see an advertisement of your favorite burger or hear someone mention ice cream, and it produces an image in your mind. You replay that image over and over again until you have to get in your car and seek that thing you are craving! Your spiritual cravings work the same way. When you focus on God and meditate on His Word, it starts to change your desires on the inside. Spiritual hunger for Him will grow and develop into a craving-until you actually have to stop everything else in order to seek Him! If you feel spiritually hungry, take a step of faith and begin to focus your heart more on God and His Word. The Bible says that when you seek Him with your whole heart, you will find Him. Just like the verse says, when you crave God and obey His commands, you will live happy and blessed all the days of your life!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Dear Lord, today I set my focus on You. I choose to seek You with an open heart. Remind me of Your goodness today and keep me close to You. Thank You for filling me with Your peace and joy and for empowering me through the Truth of Your Word. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
We sure love you!
Daily Devotions from Pastor Eric & Rita - Jump Over that Wall
Jump Over that Wall!
Today's Devotional Reading: 1 Sam 23; Ps. 31,54; Mt. 7
April 20, 2010
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"For by you I can run against a troop, and by my God I can leap over a wall" Psalm 18:29 (ESV).
TODAY'S WORD
The great heroes of the Bible impress us with their strength of their confidence and depth of their faith. And as God's Word tells us, you can do the same great things they did, because you have the same God in you! King David was supremely confident in God - firm in the knowledge God would give him the strength to overcome his obstacles. Philippians 4:13 says you can accomplish anything through the power of Christ in your heart. We hope this will encourage you to take a stand for God. Don't ever think that God did great things only for people in the days of the Bible. That same powerful God can help you jump over a wall in your life today! Just give Him an opportunity and you'll see just how awesome and powerful He is.
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
God, thank You for the invincible and unexplainable power which You have placed within me through Christ. My deepest desire today is to be confident in Your power. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
We sure love you!
Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita - The Joy of the Lord is Our Strength
The Joy of the Lord is Our Strength
Today's Devotional Reading: 1 Sam. 20,21; Ps. 34; Mt. 5
April 18, 2010
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips." (Psalm 34:1)
TODAY'S WORD
In the book of Psalms, David said, "I will bless the Lord at all times. His praise shall continually be in my mouth." At all times means in the good times as well as the tough times. The Bible tells us to stay full of joy no matter what we are facing. The joy of the Lord is our source of strength and the enemy knows it. He knows that if he can get you down and discouraged, before long, you'll be weak and feeble and he'll be able to easily defeat you.
When you are full of joy and have a good attitude, you keep yourself strong. That positive attitude of faith paves the way for God to work miracles-it paves the way for God to turn your situation around!
Decide today to have a good attitude! Keep yourself full of His joy by meditating on the goodness and promises of God. Be full of the joy of the Lord!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praise be to You, God. I am blessed in so many ways and I want to stay focused on that. Forgive me for feeling sorry for myself and forgetting that joy in You is a real source of strength. Like David, I want to sing your praises at all times! In Jesus' name - Amen.
We sure love you!
Daily Devotions from Pastor Eric & Rita - Keep the Joy
Keep the Joy
Today's Devotional Reading: 1 Sam 19; 1 Chr 7; Ps 59; Mt. 4.
April 17, 2010
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy" John 16:22 (NIV)
TODAY'S WORD
Your life is probably so fast paced that it seems to be swirling around you at times. In the midst of a hectic schedule, there are plenty of opportunities to lose your joy. But you don't have to let any circumstance rob you of the joy that is rightfully yours in Christ. Once you decide to follow God and listen to Him, alone, nothing can take away that joy that is within you. And when your heart is set on joy, no one can wrestle it away from you unless you allow it. Your enemy is roaming around like a lion - waiting to devour, destroy and rob you of joy (1 Peter 5:8). But he can't steal what Jesus has given to you in the first place. Today's verse is a promise from Jesus, Himself - so hold on to the joy that He has put in your heart!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
God, thank You for giving me unspeakable joy in my life. Help me today to hold on to what You have given me and not allow anyone or anything to take it away. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
We sure love you!
Eric & Rita
Overwhelmed by God's Goodness
Today's Devotional Reading: 1 Sam 18; 1 Chr 6; Ps 11; Mt. 3.
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus" 1 Timothy 1:14 (NIV).
TODAY'S WORD
Have you ever had an experience where you are just overwhelmed and amazed by God's grace and blessing? It is our prayer that if you haven't already, you soon will have the remarkable blessing of seeing His transforming power in action. Paul described in his letters just how astonished he was by God's grace. If there is ever a time when something just doesn't quite seem to make logical sense, it may very well be God's work in your life. He is such a big God who is so full of goodness, grace, blessing, forgiveness and mercy - we cannot even scratch the surface of His awesome holiness. All you can do sometimes is stand back overwhelmed by His deep, abiding love. Join with Paul, and recognize His abundant goodness in your life.
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
God, I can never thank You enough for everything You have done for me. I stand in awe of Your goodness today and every day! In Jesus' Name. Amen.
We sure love you!
Daily Devotions from Pastor Eric and Rita - Listen Up!
Listen Up!
Today's Devotional Reading: 1 Sam. 17; Ps. 9; Mt. 2
April 15, 2010
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"And after the earthquake, there was a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire, there was the sound of a gentle whisper" 1 Kings 19:12 (TLB)
TODAY'S WORD
Listening is a lost art today. Many of us are so concerned about expressing what they think or believe that they just don't listen closely to others - or even to God. As a Christian, try to develop your senses so that you can hear God's voice in the midst of the world's noise. God speaks not only through the Bible, but also through godly counsel and His Holy Spirit. If you want to know what God desires for you, just ask Him. But then be ready to listen for His answer. All it takes is a simple prayer like the one Samuel prayed in 1 Samuel 3:10, where he said to God, "I am listening." You never know just how God will speak to you, so listen for His still, small voice to answer.
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
God, thank You for answering my prayers. Give me the wisdom and discernment to hear Your still, small voice through the loudness of this world. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
We sure love you!
Daily Devotions from Pastor Eric & Rita -- Just Look Up!
Just Look Up!
Today's Devotional Reading: 1 Sam 15,16; 1 Chr. 5; Mt. 1
April 14, 2010
 TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"I lift up my eyes to the hills-where does my help come from?  My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth" Psalm 121:1-2 (NIV)
TODAY'S WORD
There is one great solution to all of your problems.  Just look up!  When you look up and see the face of your heavenly Father, you'll realize that He loves you and wants to solve your problem for His glory. When you look around at your problems and your circumstances in the world, you get distracted and can't focus on the God-centered answer.  The enemy is trying to keep you off balance.  He does not want you to experience joy and the blessings of the Lord. But you don't have to listen to the enemy.  Just look up, and you'll find the true Source of strength and godly counsel.  If you're struggling or feeling confused today, change your focus.
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
God, I know that looking to You will solve all of life's issues.  Thank You for giving me the answers I need and for being my help in troubled times.  In Jesus' Name.  Amen.
We sure love you!
Daily Devotions from Pastor Eric & Rita - Fight the Good Fight.
Fight the Good Fight
Today's Devotional Reading: 1 Sam 8-10; 2 Cor. 10
April 10, 2010
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our inner strength in the Lord is growing every day." (2 Corinthians 4:16)
TODAY'S WORD
Paul explained to the church at Corinth that giving up is not an option for a true Christian. As a follower of God, you are to fight the good fight in God's strength and never surrender or give up. Being faithful means holding tight through tough and seemingly impossible times. Keep pushing whether you feel like it or not; keep going even when you run out of strength. Do the right thing, even when the wrong thing happens to you. In order to win the battle, you have to step out and take part in the struggle. Only after fighting the good fight can you experience the good victory that God has in store for you.
We are not saying this is easy. It really becomes a choice you have to make and it is a fight. This last year I have been through this fight. There were days I wasn't sure I could even make it...but I knew that I had to keep on. One foot in front of the other in doing what I knew to be right. In the end...God did come through.
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
God, thank You for giving me the strength to fight the good fight. Help me to keep my eyes on You for the endurance to keep moving forward. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
We sure love you!
Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita - Practicing Real Love
Practicing Real Love
Today's Devotional Reading: 1 Sam. 6,7; Ps. 72. 2 Cor. 9
April 9, 2010
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"My dear children, let's not just talk about love; let's practice real love."
(1 John 3:18)
TODAY'S WORD
It's important for you to let those special people in your life know how much you appreciate their love and faithfulness to you. It's easy for human beings to let their love stop with words. Now loving words are certainly crucial to a love relationship, but words by themselves are not enough. The Bible says very clearly that we are to love not just by the words we say, but by the deeds of love that we do for others. There is absolutely no limit to the good things that can happen when you decide to let love be the driving force in your life. True love is so strong that the Bible says, "Many waters cannot quench love" (Song of Songs 8:7). That's a wonderful promise that when you choose to love, your efforts will not be in vain. God will open the windows of heaven and rain down His joy, abundance and favor on you when you learn to love the way He loves.
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
God, I want to live my best life for You, in love, in everything I do. Please show me the way today so that I may walk in love toward You and toward others. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
We sure love you!
Daily Devotions from Pastor Eric and Rita - You Can Love the Unlovely
You Can Love the Unlovely
Today's Devotional Reading: 1 Sam. 3-5; Ps. 77; 2 Cor. 8
April 8, 2010
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." (Romans 12:21)
TODAY'S WORD
God says you need to love even those people who are difficult or seemingly impossible to love. The mark of true believers is the love they have for each other and for those who are not part of God's family. Did you know there usually is a reason that some people are very difficult to love? More than likely, part of the problem is that they don't have enough love, which means they need your love the most of all! You have your own personality, and it probably meshes better with certain other personalities. But even with the differences between people, you can still love others with the love God has shown to you. You will be amazed how much things will change if you just take that first step of faith and love the unlovely people around you. They are desperate for love and friendship, and you might make all the difference.
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
God, give me Your unconditional love for the hard-to-love people in my life. I want to show others what Your love is all about so they will be drawn to Christ. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
We sure love you!
Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita - Love is a Lifestyle
Love Is a Lifestyle
Today's Devotional Reading: 1 Sam. 1,2; Ps. 66; 2 Cor. 7
April 7, 2010
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"Be full of love for others, following the example of Christ who loved you and gave himself to God as a sacrifice to take away your sins." (Ephesians 5:2)
TODAY'S WORD
God has a commandment for His people, and it's found in John 15:12. There Jesus said, "Love each other as I have loved you." Now, that's a tough assignment considering the fact that He loves all of His children unconditionally and completely. But Jesus would not have said this if you didn't have the power to put His love into practice. God is telling you to love others constantly, the way He does, without giving up on them. Love does not disappoint or take hope away, but is devoted to the other person's well-being and happiness. Americans likes to celebrate love on special occasions, which is fine. But showing true love and appreciation is a decision to show love and devotion every day without wavering. That's what God wants you to do with others around you, because that will make a difference.
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
God, give me strength to follow Your command to love. May I truly live a lifestyle of love today and every day. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
We sure love you!
Daily Devotions from Pastor Eric & Rita -- Expect the Best from God
Expect the Best from God
Today's Devotional Reading: Ruth 3,4; Ps. 64,65; 2 Cor. 6
April 6, 2010
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"Because of your faith it will happen." (Matthew 9:29)
TODAY'S WORD
Most believers just don't expect enough from God. God can do all things at any time, but many of His own followers put Him in a box and try to close Him in. Don't do that to God, because He is too big and too great to fit in your box or anyplace else. Stay away from phrases like, "I wish I was as happy as I was before," or "If I could just get a job like the one I used to have." God doesn't want to bring you out just like you were before. He wants to bring you out better than you were before!
He wants to move you forward and grow you in His blessings. God's desire is to increase you and make you stronger, happier and healthier. God loves you with an unconditional, unending love. You have all that you need to live the abundant life that Jesus promised!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
God, I know that I can expect the best from You. Thank You for being willing to give me even greater things than I can ask or imagine. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
We sure love you!
Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita -- Live Positively
Live Positively
Today's Devotional Reading: Ruth 1,2; Ps. 53, 61; 2 Cor. 5
April 5, 2010
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things." (Colossians 3:2)
TODAY'S WORD
If you will choose to spend each day dwelling on the fact that you are more than a conqueror who can do all things through Christ, then you will draw in the good things of God and begin to experience a life filled with more joy and victory. The higher things of God that today's verse speaks about are positive things. After you begin your morning by thanking God for the day He has given you, set your mind for success. Set your mind for victory. When you live each day with an attitude of hopeful expectancy, you can actually see good things begin to happen. Jesus said in Matthew 9:29, "According to your faith will it be done to you." In other words, you will have what your faith expects!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
God, You have given me so much! Thank you for making me more than a conqueror in Christ. I want to live positively and focus my mind on things above. Help me to do that today. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
We sure love you!
Daily Devotions from Pastor Eric & Rita -- Enjoy Life
Enjoy Life
Today's Devotional Reading: Judg. 17,18; Ps. 89; 2 Cor. 3
April 3, 2010
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not yet seen." (Hebrews 11:1)
TODAY'S WORD
You may be facing a situation in your family, your health or your marriage that just looks impossible. It would be easy to allow circumstances like this to steal your joy and cause you to go through life with a defeated attitude. But the Bible says that as long as you have faith, your situation is subject to change! So try this beginning tomorrow morning. The first thing you get up, quote Psalm 118:24 to yourself: "This is the day that the Lord has made."
I've been doing this for awhile now and man has it made a difference. I have been taking time to really enjoy life. It might be a hike in the park or mountains, or spending time shooting guns as I did the other day with a friend (I hadn't done that in 28 years -- and it was FUN). Today, I turn 47 and I've made up my mind to enjoy my life. I have a great wife, a wonderful daughter, an amazing congregation, the best friends, and a GREAT LIFE. I'm going to get the most out of it.
The Lord gave you this day for a specific reason, so enjoy it and live it in His strength! You have to be determined to enjoy your life; it has to be a daily decision because only you can choose to enjoy the things that God has given you. Look at your life through eyes of faith, and thank God for each day.
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
God, thank You for this wonderful day that You have given me. I ask today for the eyes of faith to see myself and my life the way You see me. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
We sure love you!
Daily Devotions from Pastor Eric & Rita -- Trust God's Strength
Trust God's Strength
Today's Devotional Reading: Judg. 13-16; 2 Cor. 2
April 2, 2010
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"The weakness of God is stronger than man's strength." (1 Corinthians 1:25)
TODAY'S WORD
If you have ever struggled through a very difficult or trying time as a believer, then you probably know the supernatural strength that God has promised to give those who trust in Him. God's strength is usually accompanied by His supernatural peace, and that should be an encouraging truth for you as you face whatever today holds! Learn to say, "God, I'm going to trust and serve You every day even when things don't seem to be going my way." As you wait on God, He will give you all the strength you need to fight the good fight of faith. And even when you go through difficulties, He'll give you a supernatural peace right in the midst of those problems.
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
God, thank You for holding me in Your hands. Give me strength to live within God, I know that You are strong enough for everything I will ever face. Help me to continue relying fully on You. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
We sure love you!
Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita -- Trust God's Timing
Trust God's Timing
Today's Devotional Reading: Judg. 11,12; Ps. 50; 2 Cor. 1
April 1, 2010
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay." (Habakkuk 2:3)
TODAY'S WORD
There's an old adage that says, "God's answer to your prayer is seldom early, but it is never late!" God will give you the grace you need when you're in His timing. So if you will keep a right attitude and not allow bitterness or resentment to take hold, then at the right time, in due season, God will answer your prayers. The answer may be "No," or something different than you think, but it will be for your best. Habakkuk 2 tells you that God has an appointed time to answer your prayers so that you receive just what you need at just the right time to live victoriously and happily. You probably have dreams that God has put in your heart; wait for His timing to bring these dreams about. Your situation will improve, but on God's timetable, not yours!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
God, I believe You are at work in my life bringing about what You know is best for me. My desire is to be patient as I faithfully await Your answers. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
We sure love you!
Eric & Rita
