By reading the scripture above each day you will read the Old Testament through in one year and the New Testament through twice in a year. This will change your life. Start Today!

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there Your hand shall lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me. (Psalm 139:9-10)

TODAY'S WORD
, not only is God all knowing (or omniscient), He is also omnipresent, which means He is present everywhere. Psalm 139:7-10 describes this great quality of God,
Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there Your hand shall lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me.
Now again, the omnipresence of God can be comforting or frightening. It all depends on what side of the fence you are on. You see, if you are not right with God and you are trying to run from Him, I want you to know today it isn't going to work. Wherever you go He will be waiting for you. Jonah found this out. "I will escape from God," he said. But God was waiting for Him. You cannot escape from God's presence.

If you are trying to run from God, that is a cause for concern. It means that your efforts will meet with failure. But if you are walking with God, you'll find great comfort, because you will never be alone. When you walk through your fiery trials, when you go through your times of difficulty, when you have to weather life's storms, God is there. Whenever God lets His children go through a fiery trial, He always keeps one eye on them and one eye on the thermostat. He will not give us more than we can handle. He is there with you.

A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY

Dear Lord, I thank you for this day. I thank you that I can see or hear your Word this morning. Let me give thanks all day for what I have, especially your eternal love, and forgive me this day when I go astray, by my thoughts or actions; my only aim is to please you, to know and do your will. Guide my every step.

Help me to live this day with wisdom and discretion so that I may not fall short of your glory. Protect me from danger, both in the world and in my attitude. Give me the gift of a clear mind, that I might hear the quiet voice of your Spirit. Help to massage away resentments and blame for things gone by, that would eat my energy and poison my mind; but instead, help me to look to the moment, to what I can do, to work for the future. And let me never become frustrated where I lack control of events, for you are in charge, not me; and I put my entire faith in your power, your knowledge, your plan for humanity.

Your are my direction, Lord. Help me to keep this in mind for today, in Christ's name I pray, Amen.

, my your life be full of His blessings.

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita - God Knows You

God Knows You

January 30, 2014

By reading the scripture above each day you will read the Old Testament through in one year and the New Testament through twice in a year. This will change your life. Start Today!

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up. You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. (Psalm 139:1-3)

TODAY'S WORD
, did you know God is vitally aware of what is happening in the life of every individual? He is interested in every detail of our lives. Proverbs 15:3 says, "The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good." When you stop and think about it, how could God reward and punish otherwise? He is aware of everything that is happening. There is not one single thing that happens on this earth that escapes the knowledge of God. Proverbs 5:21 says, "For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord, and He ponders all his paths."

Realizing that God knows everything about everyone, including you, can either be frightening or encouraging. It all depends on your relationship with God. If your life is not right with God, if you are living in sin, then God's complete knowledge could be rather terrifying. It might be unsettling to think that nothing about your life escapes His attention.

But if your life is right with God, then knowing that He is aware of what is going on in your life is a comforting thought. It's comforting because we know God won't forget us. We know we're not just another face on this massive human sea of some five billion people. As a Christian who is walking with God, His complete knowledge guarantees that He is watching over us and is taking care of us.

So when trouble comes your way, find joy in the fact that God knows you and cares for you.

A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY

Now, oh Lord, I pray that you may lift up the light of your countenance upon me, and give me peace; in my going out and in my coming in; in my sitting down and my rising up; in my work and in my play; in my joy and in my sorrow, in my laughter and in my tears; until that day comes which is without dawn and without dark, Amen.

, my your life be full of His blessings.
