Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita - Through Faith and Patience

Through Faith and Patience
Today's Devotional Reading:
Numbers 24-27; I Cor 13
February 28, 2011

By reading the scripture above each day you will read the Old Testament through in one year and the New Testament through twice in a year. This will change your life. Start Today!
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"Now we see things imperfectly as in a poor mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything, completely, just as God knows me now." (1 Corinthians 13:12 NLT).

TODAY'S WORD
, did you know that in the Bible, David was 17 years old when he was anointed to be king, but yet he did not take the throne until he was 30? I'm sure during those 13 years there were plenty of times that David was tempted to think it wasn't going to happen. I'm sure he was tempted to get frustrated or even feel like a failure, thinking "God, did I hear You? I thought You said You were going to do something great with my life, but nothing is going my way." Here he was being faithful, but all those years he saw no sign of the promise coming to pass.

The older I get the more I realize I just don't see the same way God does. I have my doubts about the future, my abilities, will I be used again?

I'm sure David had to fight the same negative thoughts that we do; thoughts that were telling him "It's not going to happen. David, you didn't hear from God. Just accept it." The battle was taking place in his mind just like our battles take place in our minds. During those times when it seems like you aren't getting any closer to seeing your dream come to pass, remember, the scripture tells us that through faith and patience we inherit the promises of God.

A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY

Father God, I humbly come to You, believing that You are working behind the scenes on my behalf. I trust that Your Word is true and believe that through faith and patience, I will see Your promises come to pass in my life. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita - He Fulfills His Promises

He Fulfills His Promises
Today's Devotional Reading:
Numbers 21-22; Mark 6 & 7
February 27, 2011

By reading the scripture above each day you will read the Old Testament through in one year and the New Testament through twice in a year. This will change your life. Start Today!
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"It's all right," he said. "I am here! Don't be afraid." (Mark 6:50 NLT).

TODAY'S WORD
, what is it in your life that you used to be excited about? Are there dreams that you've pushed down, goals that you've let go of? Too often, because those dreams seem to be taking a long time, or because we've been through some disappointments, we become complacent. It's easy to just accept the fact that "it's probably not going to happen for me." But just because you gave up doesn't mean God gave up. God never aborts a dream. He always fulfills His promises! That dream He placed in your heart may be pushed down by disappointments, setbacks, failures, or rejection. But know this; the seed is still alive.

This morning as I was reading about Jesus walking on the water I felt Him say..."I'll get you to the other side." He knows what He's doing. It may be dark and windy right now, but his words are "I'm here."

the promise of your dream is still in you. You just need to get your fire back! That dream may look like it's dead in the ground, but really, it's just been planted. That means it's coming back. It's going to flourish! Our attitude should be "This may be taking a long time, and maybe I don't see how it could happen, but I know God already has the completion date. I'm not going to give up on my dreams. I'm not going to go through life without goals, passion, or enthusiasm. No, I'm getting my vision back because I know God fulfills His promises!

A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your faithfulness to me! I ask that You breathe life into every dream and desire in my heart. I trust You with the unknowns and believe that You are working all things out for my good. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita - Sunday Is On the Way

Sunday Is On the Way
Today's Devotional Reading:
Numbers 19,20; Psalm 28 Mark 5
February 26, 2011

By reading the scripture above each day you will read the Old Testament through in one year and the New Testament through twice in a year. This will change your life. Start Today!
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"Save Your people!. . . Lead them like a shephered, and carry them forever in your arms." (Psalm 28:9 NLT).

TODAY'S WORD
, every year all over the world, people honor Good Friday as they day Jesus was crucified. It was the darkest, most painful, discouraging day of His life. To others, it looked as if it was over. It looked as if His enemies had gotten the best of Him. But God had other plans. Jesus' enemies put Him in the grave on Friday celebrating their victory, but Sunday morning was a different story. The grave could not hold Him. Death couldn't contain Him. The forces of darkness couldn't stop Him. On the third day, Jesus came out of the grave and He said, "I was dead, but now I am alive forevermore."

One principle that the resurrection teaches us is that God will always finish what He started. No matter how dark it looks, no matter how long it's been, no matter how many people are trying to push you down; if you will stay in faith, God will always take you from Friday to Sunday. You will see your day of breakthrough because God will complete what He started.

If you are going through a dark time today, remember that your day of resurrection, your "Sunday" is on the way! Keep standing, keep believing, because soon you will rise up into the higher places He has in store for you!

A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY

Father in heaven, thank You for Your resurrection power that is alive in me. I choose to keep my eyes on You, the Author and Finisher of my faith. Thank You that my day of breakthrough is on its way! In Jesus' Name. Amen!

We sure love you!

Daily Devotion from Pastor Eric & Rita - Choose to Rejoice

Choose to Rejoice
Today's Devotional Reading:
Numbers 17,18; Ps. 29; Mark 4
February 25, 2011

By reading the scripture above each day you will read the Old Testament through in one year and the New Testament through twice in a year. This will change your life. Start Today!
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"Give honor to the Lord for the glory of his name. Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness." (Psalm 29:2 NLT).

TODAY'S WORD
, all through the scripture we are told to rejoice in the Lord always. It's interesting that the word "rejoice" doesn't just mean to be vocal and to give God praise with our words. Rejoice also means "to brighten up," "to spin around," and "to leap for joy." In other words, you rejoice with your actions. You rejoice with your countenance. Do you realize you can rejoice by simply putting a smile on your face?

When times are tough, when things aren't going as planned, many people have a long, sour face. They're down, discouraged, worried, and upset. But when you choose to rejoice, you smile and have a pleasant demeanor no matter what. And it's not because you necessarily feel like it or because everything is perfect. You just simply smile by faith. You smile knowing that your expression is saying to God, "I trust You. I know you are working all things out for my good." Make the decision today and every day to rejoice in the Lord! Put a smile on your face and let the whole world know your hope is in the Lord and He is the one you worship!

A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY

Father God, I choose to rejoice in You. I know that Your goodness goes way beyond my difficulty. I know that even when I don't see a way, You are making a way for me. Fill me with Your supernatural peace and joy as I surrender every area of my life to You. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

We sure love you!
