By reading the scripture above each day you will read the Old Testament through in one year and the New Testament through twice in a year. This will change your life. Start Today!

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"What have you gained by worshiping all your man-made idols? How foolish to trust in something made by your own hands!..." (Habakkuk 2:18 NLT.)

TODAY'S WORD
, this morning as I read the book of Habakkuk I was struck how much I have put my trust in the works of my own hands. The prophet Habakkuk says, "you believe your wealth will buy security, putting your families beyond the reach of danger." (Habakkuk 2:9). Isn't it easy to put our confidence and trust in what we do? We go to work each day believing that if we have enough money that somehow we are going to be OK. While there is nothing wrong with earning an honest wage or making money it really comes down to what we are trusting in. What really has become our God. Today, we have so many man-made idols, they just look a little more "sophisticated " -- but they are still idols.

Few things in life are sure. We have no idea what tomorrow will bring. The God who made you desires relationship with you. He wants to live and move and breath in you today. An idol can't do that. Man has always tried to fill the empty places in his life with the works of his own hands, but God wants to fill those places.

Would you take a moment today and ask God to show any places in your life that might be given over to the "works of your own hand"? If you ask Him, with an honest heart, He will show you.

A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY

Father in Heaven I ask today that you will fill my life. I pray that any idols that I have set up in my heart that you will tear down. I thank you that you have made me for relationship with You, restore the passion of my heart in Jesus' name. Amen.

, we really do love you and we pray God's Blessing in your life!
