Is Anyone Sorry?

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"Is anyone sorry for sin? does anyone say "what a terrible thing I have done"? No! All are running down the path of sin as swiftly as a horse rushing into battle!" (Jeremiah 8:6 NLT)

TODAY'S WORD

, in our devotional reading for today God is asking a question through the prophet Jeremiah - He's asking "is anyone sorry for sin?" God is looking at the heart of a person who recognizes what he or she is doing is wrong. God's heart breaks because all He wants is a relationship with us, but like Israel of old so many are running after other things, idols of 2013.

All through the book of Jeremiah we see God saying, "if my people will just turn and come back I'll forget about it, I won't hold it against them." God is the same today. He's just looking for people like you and I who are sorry for the sins in our life.

, are you sorry for the sin in your life? Knowing that every time you sin that it break's your Father's heart? It's not that God hasn't forgiven us, it's just that so often we really aren't sorry. We hold on to our greed, pride, lust, and a host of other sins as if they were our God, the answer to all our pain.

God says "let me be your answer, let me be the one you turn to instead." On this Sunday morning, won't you take a few moments and examine your heart...see that God is waiting for you and that His blessings are stored up for those who just simply say "I'm sorry."

A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY

Father in Heaven, I really am sorry today for all the sins of my life. Forgive me for putting so many other things in front of you. I turn to you and desire relationship with you, heal me, forgive me, dwell in me in Jesus' name. Amen.
