TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends" (John 15:13, NIV). TODAY'S WORD , have you noticed how fast life goes? Yesterday I did the funeral for a young man, Daniel Aydell who was only 23 years old. The grief was so strong, and the ache of the loss was seen by all who came to say goodbye. Here was a young man who had his whole life in front of him...stepping through the door of death to the other side. What gives me such comfort is that I know who controls the other side of eternal life. A very loving Father. I'm so thankful that Jesus loved us enough to lay down His life so that we could spend eternity with Him. He was the ultimate expression of love. But did you know that there are ways you can lay down your life to express your love to others? When you let go of having your own way, or when you put the needs and desires of others above your own desires, that's a form of laying down your life. It's so important to live a life of love. Today, choose to follow Christ's example by putting others first because love is all that matters in eternity. A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY Father God, thank You for another day to praise You. Thank You for being the ultimate example of love. Help me follow Your example and lay down my life for others. Let everything I do bring honor to You. In Jesus' Name. Amen. |
