Protected by a Shield of Love

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"For you bless the godly, O Lord, surrounding them with your shield of love." (Psalm 5:12)
TODAY'S WORD
, it is important that you understand that God is blessing you. This morning you might not feel it. Maybe you can't see it. Maybe you find yourself like Jacob -- in the midst of a famine with the possibility you could lose everything -- your home, your children and your land. Being in the midst of a famine is painful and it is difficult to make good decisions because of your circumstances. But God's Word is sure. He will bless the godly and will surround them with a shield of love.
When it looks like your world is falling apart -- just know that God has you covered you by His love. He isn't going anywhere and He won't stop giving you His blessing. Yes, you will feel the icy grip of the famine, but behind the scene God is working on your behalf. He has a plan for you and it does involve the promise of a new land and a brighter future.
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
God, this morning I claim your blessings in my life and thank you for your shield of love. In spite of all that is going on in my life right now I will honor you and stand firm in my commitment to follow you.
